Ahhhhhhh, my heart broke today. How can so many of us live so blessed while millions suffer? The opposites of the universe are vast. Africans are the original people, we have been here forever. today , I saw a weary people. Sick babies, the mother's so patient! so frickin patient!
There is alot of work that has to be done. I have to admit that I did break down, I cried when I saw the last malnourished, possibly even afflicted with AIDS child, he was so sick.
I know for sure that I have to be involved in creating resources to donate to sick children in Africa. I have to be involved in Africa.
solutions...equipment, vaccines, meds, sanitation solutions, money, and.......................
I'll stop here now

Here in Africa
Today is the official first day of my stay here in Bamako, Mali. As i sit in my room to blog, i am overlooking the Niger river. The beauty here is astounding. From the colorful fabrics, to the red soil, to the different languages that the people speak.
I am here for a purpose. My husband and I have come as representatives of MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER AND THE NOTHING BUT NETS FOUNDATION. The work that we are doing in conjuction with the United Nations Foundation is a package for the people of Mali. The aim is to target 2.8 mllion children in the course of a week in order to observe the distribution of measle vaccines, polio vaccines, vitamin A deworming medication, and insecticide treated mosquito bed netting.
In Mali, MALARIA is the #1 killer of children. Every 30 seconds a child dies here from Malaria. Also, daily some 25 million pregnant women are at risk for Malaria related sickness. This is an epidemic that is quite costly to African nations in terms of the loss of people. We are here to save children. Pray for us. This campaign has to be one of the single most important events happening in the world right now!!!!!!!!
Today was full of briefings and a press conference, tomorrow we begin our fieldwork.
I feel incredibly blessed to be apart of this campaign. I am thankful for the opportunity, as this will impact life tremedously. Much lies ahead, I will return with more info. Please stay tuned

I'm testing the waters
To share my thoughts with others that I don't know. Well, it opens me up to communication with the world.
I am beginning a very important phase in my existence. I know divine forces have been put into play. I give thanks to and am humbled before the presence of the owner of the universe, giver of life.
These things will unfold as I move fully into this process.
Until next time.....
